Powerdirector 11 does not finalize the dual layer disc projects AVCHD. I receive a message mentioning that an unfinalized disc may not be readable by some devices.

Anyone know why this is happening? I don't seem to find any switch to check off to allow this to happen.

PD 11 does finalize single layer disc ok the problem is with DL (dual layer).

Thanks to all

NO not rewritable, once only

Using HP DVD +R Dual Layer DVD and same but Memorex Brand.
Both 8x, 8.5 GB, 240min, which seems standard for a dual layer.

After creating the disc, it seems faster to use a copy dvd software. The software both from CyberLink and Roxio sees the disc as being open on the dual layer disc, a single layer shows closed after the PD 11 burning.

The disc plays fine on the Blu Ray player for the AVCHD created disk just that it shows being open and not a closed disc. So I find it odd that PD 11 does not close it after the burning process. I have sent support an inquiry on this matter since I did not find anyone esle that had posted such a question as this one.

I looked around and could not find any option to close the disc after burning. I have no guess. __________________________________

Hi,
If you have burned to Disk though PD then it should finalize the disk automatically...but if you remove the disk beforehand then that step dosen't finish...sometimes it takes while with no info' shown..
Jim
p.s. Memorex disk aren't the most reliable brand (in my opinion)...

PowerDirector ejects the disc when finished. Then I get the message. So why doesn't PD close on the DL disc verses single layer? Just odd that doesn't automatically .

I have just done my first two discs using dual layer. I'm still new to this and the few DVDs I did before with single layer always closed and ejected when done. The first of the dual layer discs closed and ejected but the second one sat there at 99% for several minutes then went to 100% (only 25 mins in total, authoring and burning) but still didn't eject. I ejected the disc myself after a few minutes and tried it. It plays perfectly.

The DL DVD have played fine on my Blu Ray player as well. Just don't want problems if there is an answer out there.

My question is if you use a copy DVD software does it show under the drive that the DVD is open or closed on your computer? Like I said before Roxio and Cyberlink PowerToGo Copy DVD features shows DL disc still open on my computer. This is after the disc ejects when burn is done.
