Problems with Title Room Templates ...

I'm just learning PD, so sorry if this is a stupid question. I've installed the trail version of PD11 (11.0.0.3026). The options available in the Title Room seem lacking. I'm showing only 4 templates in the PowerDirector v11 folder (LowerThird02_01 .. LowerThird02_04) and the same 4 in the General folder and only 1 template in the 3D-Like folder (Default3D). All other folders are showing 0 templates. Is this correct? Where do I get other title templates?

The issue is I don't seem to have just a generic 2D template available so I can have just a general text title. The LowerThird templates have some graphic items that I can't seem to delete in Title Designer. Appreciate any help ...

I see many more Title Room templates in the licensed version.

Double-click on the template, then UNcheck the boxes that correspond to the items that you do not want.

I can UNCHECK the animation component and the graphic element is removed but if I SAVE it the animation component gets added back. I can't seem to SAVE IT with the animation element not enabled. Even if I use SAVE AS to save it as new template, the new template keeps the animation element. Is there a way to physically delete the animation element?

Create a new bare bones template.

Is SAVING not supposed to save any changes that were made. That seems odd.

Why is there a difference set of templates in the trial? Shouldn't there be a basic 2D title template?

Hi -

Unchecking the animation or disabling any track in Title Designer doesn't remove it from the template - it just hides it while you work on other sections.

You can select any track and delete it.

I am not familiar with the trial version, but there is a limited number of templates available. Is there one called "Default"? That's the basic 2D Title template.

Cheers - Tony

Thanks. OK, but if you un-check items and then use SAVE AS to create a new template, shouldn't the unchecked items NOT be SAVED? In that case, I'm creating a NEW TEMPLATE.

Not sure I understand the purpose of the check-marks in the first place if whatever I do is lost when I SAVE. When you say it just hides it while you work on other sections, sections of what? Since the Title Designer is active, don't I have to complete whatever I'm doing in the designer before SAVING and switching to another section to work on? Based on how it's working, why would I use the check-marks?

In my trial install, there is only 1 Default 3D template and it's in the 3D-Like folder. I just created my own default 2D template and placed into the General folder (I guess anything you create custom also gets placed into the Custom folder too). Just seems like something as basic as that should already be present. Just want to be sure my trial install is OK. Everything appears to be working OK at this point, but I haven't dug too deep yet.

In Title Designer, disabling tracks/elements just makes it easier to edit more complex titles/templates. Unchecking does NOT remove the track - it just hides it.

If you want to get rid of the animation - or any track - just click on it (like in Borgus's screenshot) & hit Delete. Gone! Then Save As a new template or Save to return to the timeline.

I think it's just a case of getting familiar with the thing. You sound like you're doing pretty well!

Cheers - Tony
