Missing features?

Hi,

This is my first time around here. I am new to PD11, but familiar with other editing software (such as Avid's Liquid Editioin). Switching to another computer (from WinXP to Win8 ) forced me to look for a new editing tool. PD11 was the lucky one and so far I am very pleased with it. However, there are a few features I miss (or, more likely, haven't found yet).

- First, is it possible to copy scene settings (such as movement, opacity or rotation) from one scene (clip) to another one?
- And, when using keyframes, can I copy the value of a particular keyframe to the next or previous keyframe within that scene/clip?
- Is there a default behaviour (user adjustable) for deleting a scene from the timeline/storyboard. As far as I can see I will always be prompted to select one out of three options when I delete a scene.

Hi Jos2708,
Welcome to the forum.
1. Motion paths - yes these can be applied to different images and video. See the motion path (a specific icon in Paths) to save.
1-1. For still image files, opacity etc can be saved as a PiP, but not transferred to others.
1-2. Opacity for a video can not be saved as a PiP to transfer to other video files.
2. Keyframes - yes these can be duplicated to Previous & Next - use the right click on a keyframe.
3. Adjustable behaviour for the Delete option - no but if you use the keyboard shortcuts I'm sure you could create one or use the default set up etc (Shift+Delete etc).

I hope the above helps.

Dafydd

Hi Dafydd,

Thanks for the quick response. I'll give it a try.

Hi Dafydd,
2. Keyframes - yes these can be duplicated to Previous & Next - use the right click on a keyframe.

It seems that this does not work in my case. When I right click on a keyframe, I see a popup menu with 4 options (delete keyframe, delete all keyframes, next keyframe and previous keyframe). Choosing next or previous does not change the value for the chosen attribute; instead, the timeline pointer jumps to the next or previous keyframe. I'm sure I must be doing something wrong ...

I figured it out.
I tried to duplicate keyframes in the "keyframes" tab (above the timeline), not in the PIP-designer.
