Hello,

I am fairly new to posting at this board, but I have a problem with PowerDirector11 Ultra, that I cannot fix. I have uploaded several high def clips onto my timeline, and library, and I am closing in on 60 minutes worth of footage on my timeline alone. PowerDirector is freezing on me, and at best of times works incredibly slow. I have tried un-installing and re-installing the software, but that did not work. My computer is running Windows 7, and from what I can see my laptop meets all of the necessary requirements to run PowerDirector. Are there any other options I can change while editing to speed up the software, and also prevent the freezing? Do I need a better computer ? this one is barely 3 years old.

Any help will be much appreciated!
Thank you,
Chris

Don't know if this will help, but this advice helped me when I was having a freezing problem. Click on the little gear looking icon on the far right of the very top menu of the program (next to the format size) to get a menu. Then click on Hardware Acceleration and make sure nothing in there is checked. If it is, then uncheck it. Hope this works for you like it did for me.

Good Luck! Dustie
I'm still working on it....

A long timeline can make the best computer choke. Can you go to the stickies atop this forum header and submit part A and B for us to look at.

I also suggest breaking your lengthy project into 2 or 3 individual projects, then render each, then combine them into 1. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
Nvidia GTX 960(4GB)/16GB DDR3/
Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.
Tape capture using 6 VCR, TBC-1000, Elite BVP4+, Sony D8 camcorder with TBC.
