I recorded a video in HD 1200X720, 59 frames per second, 72 mbps/sec. I am having trouble with compatibility with the powerdirector's fps setted at 60 fps. A window pops up saying that the video conflicts with the T.V. format at 60 fps. The video isn't as clear as using windows media player. How do I solve this problem?

To which format are you producing the video? __________________________________

I produced the video in MOV (H.264) 1280 X 720 60p 72Mbps (ALL-Intra) using a Panasonic GH3 camera. Use drop frame timecode is set to "yes" but I still get the following message:

TV Format Conflict
The frame rate of the file you imported (59.94 FPS) does not match with current project frame rate setting (59.94 FPS), so the quality may be degraded.
It is highly recommended that you use only video clips with the same frame rate in a project.

Any idea's would be greatly appreciated, Thank You.

This is a confirmation message that pops up if your source video conflicts with your preference settings. See attachment....Mine is typically "unchecked" to avoid seeing the message. The key will be when you complete your video project and go to "Produce" your final video. Then it will be important as to the file type you select and the quality you desire. There are many quality levels that can be produced within each "File Type" this gives you more flexibility.

The reason that your video "isn't as clear " is because when you place your video clips onto the timeline PowerDirector will display according to your Preview Resolution" setting. The higher the setting it will improve the quality in the preview screen but will be more demanding on your PC resources.

The Preview Quality button is located below the Preview Screen...White box within a rectangle. Keep in mine this is only a PREVIEW and not an indication of the final quality of your video project.

Thank You Cap'n Kevin for your reply. I'm new at this and it is worry some that it tells me 59.94 FPS is not the same as 59.94 FPS? I am planning on putting the project on YouTube, Vimeo, and Facebook, any suggestions as to which format and quality would be best?

There are probably many ways to answer this. I'll try giving you two suggestions.

You can produce your project and have it automatically uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo and I believe facebook is a choice too right in Power Director. You can find this in the PRODUCE section, and select the ONLINE tab. You should see those various choices, YouTube, Vimeo, ect. Within each there is a drop down list for various quality settings. For you there is no advantage to selecting anything over 1280x720 since that is what you shot the original in. All of these produce a video in a WMV VIDEO FILE, which works just fine for me. This is usually fine for most everyday home movie things. But if you are shooting video with lots of fast action, super slow motion using all those 60 FPS and vibrant colors that you just WANT TO KEEP THE UTMOST QUALITY, then you will want to produce your video file sepperately.

I would select mp4 as my target and either use a default(1280x720) quality setting and produce it to a location on your PC you can find and watch it. If you like the quality then you can upload it manually yourself to those various sites.

It is a game of keeping the final size of the video file to a size that you can upload at a speed that isn't objectionable to you. Best quality means a larger file size. If you have a fast Internet connection then it won't be an issue.

See if this makes sense. If you need more help just ask.

Kevin

Thank you again Kevin,

I was able to upload to youtube directly from powerdirector but when I try and save the file in MPEG-4 or any other format and upload from youtube it doesn't work. Youtube say's the video is not properly formatted. I've tried every format and upgraded to google chrome and still no luck, any ideas?

Not exactly sure what may be the problem as it should be a supported file type. Was the youtube uploader acceptable quality for you? Here is a list of supported video formats.

Supported YouTube file formats

Not sure which format to save your video? Receiving an "invalid file format error message when you're uploading"?

Make sure that you’re using one of the following formats:

.MOV
.MPEG4
.AVI
.WMV
.MPEGPS
.FLV
3GPP
WebM
