Many factors determine the functions of the video card.

The version of Windows, is one of the biggest. Windows 7 64bit, maybe Windows 8 64bit.
The version of your video driver.

Go to Nvidia and download and install the latest certified Driver.

I am very pleased that was sorted out.
Just for kicks, though, what are the files you are trying to render/produce from? Did you read the stickies for Newbies? Are you absolutely sure you know EVERYTHING? Do you know we are 99.9% volunteers? HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Hi,
That is funny I have a Geforce 560 ti 1Gb graphics card and a 24" monitor and I can get 1920X1080 full Hi def resolution, 3D capable on my system...running the latest Geforce drivers. so mr. know it all must be your system or your monitor.

OK, OK, we made the point. Let's get back assisting Tirexi.

Someone may correct me on this, but I believe hardware encoding depends entirely on the graphics card, not the program. Unless you have a very new and expensive graphics card it probably will not support anything over HD resolution. Again, someone may correct me. __________________________________

I'm like James........ Not sure to rule out the video card. After I changed mine I had many more options to go with the better HD resolution that I never had before. Not to mention just a better overall editing experience. Until we see a DXDIAG we can only guess anyway.... __________________________________________

When you are asked to provide a DXDIAG you go the following link and do part "B". Your posted specs are NOT what we are looking for as they tell us nothing. The specs on the box of your computer mean nothing. The DXDIAG shows us how your computer is configured as it runs.

This is one thing I could find about the GTX 780 supported resolutions:

1 - 4096x2160 resolution supported through a single HDMI connector. 4096x2160 resolution is not supported with two DVI connectors. Gateway DX4380, AMD A8-5500 Quad Core 3.2GHz with ATI Radeon HD 7560D; 16GB RAM; 1 TB SATA 7200 RPM; Windows 8 Pro 64-bit; PDR11, PDVD12.

nVidia HW encoder supports up to FullHD resolution.

maybe next generation can support 4K/QFHD ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
