I want to be able to closely duplicate this spotlight feature (from Hudl.com) for son's football games this coming fall. Here is the type of spotlight I'm looking for> http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2000841/highlights/46783376
I know how to do do a basic circle but like this spin effect. I don't need to follow him, just point him out. thanks.

I don't have an answer for you but I found it distracting as compared to other highlight that I've seen. .

Thanks. Yeah I watched that before last year and put both effects in. It's that all the college coaches are used to the hudl effect...so I was going to try to make it easy for them. Our coaches can't get the tape out until after season and I need to send weekly. Can't get access to hudl since I'm a parent.

Maybe multiple transparent png or or gif files each with a bit more of the circle would do it?
This thread shows gives how to convert an animated gif to a video and might also be useful http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/22298.page;jsessionid=11575EBEBA506CACAEC06C28810002EF

I think you can probably use one transparent PNG and use the PiP Designer to rotate it. If not, then the multiple image idea should work. __________________________________

Hi Jabberjaw62,

Yep, I agree with Jamie-esque. Is this close to what you’re wanting?

If so, you can download the Packed Project Folder of this project in the “download box” below, and then load it into your PD11, by double clicking on the .pds file. Once loaded into your PD11, you can delete the sample clip and then modify, refine, and re-work it all from there. Or re-design the enclosed rotating circle, in your image editor

Or, if you wish, here’s a DirectorZone link to just the basic rotating icon Motion Object (690x690) used.
http://directorzone.cyberlink.com/detail/131969994

After downloading and installing this custom Motion Object template, it will be available in your PIP Objects Room, in the “Downloaded” section. You can then give it a Scale and Motion path to suit your footage.

Well done Cranston!

Now that's what this forum is meant to be about - helping and sharing ideas with fellow video editors NOT berating members because they have a different point of view or offer alternative advice

Members, It is good to see that the information on how to present a video on this forum has been used twice.

CubbyHouseFilms, when the appropiate moment arrises (on your own thread/topic) show members one of your PowerDirector edited video to.

I did Dafydd. Remember the topic I created and the video Sydney in 50 seconds to showcase the editing potential of PD?

I too was berated by a couple of members because I dared to use ColorDirector a Cyberlink product to enchance my production.

Happy editing

cubbyhousefilms; I meant no disrespect. I was commenting from a viewpoint of a parent who went through trying to get a scholarship for my son. I talked to coaches who view hundreds of video. They have only a short time to do so and just want the facts. I was afraid that the coaches would watch the highlighter and not the player.

The coaches will remember the circle but will they remember the player?

Yes. Thank you.
It’s is indeed nice to see that the info in the instructional post from yesterday, has been used “twice”.
http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/28822.page

Now admittedly, I only went back 16 months to only search some of my past posts. And I found that I had only been able to embed 14 separate Youtube videos in 14 previous posts, once.

Still, having forum navigation instructions available for the uninitiated and valued newer members who bring vitality, is certainly a good thing. And even though the expressed gratification really has nothing to do with this thread, I do encourage anyone who is unsure (of how to embed your Youtube video example as part of your post), to check out the very helpful instructions here…

That is perfect Cranston!!! Wow, thank you so much! I just played around with it a little bit. I need to go through the training video again and then try and convert last year’s video for practice. If I don't touch Power Director for a few months I forget how some of the features work! Not like riding a bike! Thanks again!!!!
