Hello all,

I have CL Ultra Uber Alles Super Duper Everything Director Suite with PD11, Color Director, Ohoto Director, and Audio Director. Not to mention Power2Go 8 Ultra, You Cam, etc etc.

I am really annoyed that every time I start PD, it gives me a pop-up ad to "buy Color Director", or "buy Power2Go", etc.

Is there any way to disable these annoying, senseless pop-ups SINCE I ALREADY HAVE ALL THOSE SOFTWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you. I'm calm now. ~Tom~

No, I did not! And it seems I never followed up on it even after posting inside of that thread. I will now attempt ynotfish tutorial.

Thanks! ~Tom~

Hi

Further to Nina's advice and link my anti-virus software McAfee has a feature to 'Block' programs accessing the internet like PDR, CDR etc with a simple check box.

I'm sure all antivirus programs have a similar setting without having to do a registry hack.

Good luck Happing editing

Best Regards

Neil

I never could get it to stop and actually it does not bother me and slows anything down..... blocking PD with your anti virus may give you problems in the long run. __________________________________________

Hi Kmot,
Simply controlling program access via the Firewall controls will restrict any software from communicating with the internet. As Bubba in TX points out this can have or raise problems for you. Accessing a video sharing site through PDR for one. Once all activations have been applied there is no need to have any program contact the net.

Please be aware of Firewall issues, mentioned here on the forum. Some Firewall's are really useless at switching back to allow a program to access the Net. So, know what you're doing and tread with a thoughful step!

Dafydd

I have just tested Nina's thread and found it works just fine.

Big thanks to Tony of PDtoots.

I have further tested this fix on my WN7 LAPTOP and found adverts are gone but the window at the bottom still pops up with rubbish!

I get the same as shown in TOM's photo, so I have now removed the fix.

I too agree that the constant advertising is a pain.
Other editing software that I use or used will inform you of an update and they do not have this overly aggressive advertising.

I too used the fix, adverts. are gone

Thanks ynotfish
