Hello,

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop that is connected to projector Optoma HD66. What equipment do I need to be able watching 3D with PowerDVD 12?

Dose work every DLP 3D active shutter glasses or not?
What else do I still need in order to watch 3D?

Thanks.

This question would be answered better if you would ask this to Sony support. They should be able to know what ports are available on your laptop.

It is a question about PowerDVD how to watch 3D, not a question about Sony laptop.

jimmy was on the right track. Download and run the blu ray and 3D advisor if you don't already have it on your computer.

It is a start to tell you if you are close: http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/bd-support/enu/index.jsp

What is the video card/chip on that laptop? It may be the Bvidia one that does have 3D ability.
Look here. Did you get the glasses? Dod you install the drivers with the emitter plugged in?

Your projector does support 3D. Did you get an emitter or is it built in?

I just bought a Optima GT750 and had a heck of a time getting 3D set up even from a 3D blu ray player. Good luck !

I have following components for watching 3D blu ray.

1-Sony VAIO laptop VGN-FW21L with blu ray drive and HDMI port with ATI mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series.
2-Power DVD 12 installed.
2- AV Receiver Onkyo TX-SR 803 and KEF speaker system.
3-Optoma HD 66 projector DLP link 3D ready.
4-Projector Screen

Now, you have all information about hardware.
My Question is how to get 3D image with PowerDVD 12?

What did the "Advisor say'?

Here is the informationon the graphics card (link) do you see where it is capable of putputting a 3D signal? I can't. If no 3D output, then you will get only the Anaglyph output.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/notebook/graphics/ati-mobility-hd-3000/hd-3400/Pages/hd-3400-specs.aspx

To answer your question, you need to replace the graphics chip, an emitter and the glasses or a whole new computer with the equipment mentioned if the above is true.

The Advisor did say: YES
for blue ray and 3D capability.

How can I add the Advisor reports here?

What ? Do you think we don't trust you? Look at your video card drivers. Is there on there for 3D? With the Nvidia card, I has to plug in the emitter and install the drivers then. There should be some sort of test that you can do to check the 3D. With Nvidia, there were a bunch of 3D images to loo9k at. Do you have anything like that? Try doing that. If you can see a 3D image, then you will need to redo the drivers. Once the 3D is set up, then there should be no problems watching 3D video. Make sure that in the setting, you have PowerDVD set for automatic detection of the format.

Have fun. .

Perhaps someone else can help. You seem not to want to read my posts and answer my questions even though I asked nicely.

I asked about the drivers, emitter and glasses. Just because it is capable doesn't mean it will work ! Do you have the drivers, emitter, and glasses? Have the laptop plugged into your projector.

If you wanted to post the results, I would have preferred that you post the results screen as shown.

What drivers do you mean?
I do not have an emitter and glass yet. That's why I'm asking what to need to watch 3D.
Laptop is connected to AV-Receiver per HDMI and AV-Receiver is connected to Optoma HD 66 Projector per HDMI.

You need the 3D drivers, the emitter and the glasses. Go here and read the article on using AMD 3D technology.
