Producing .nmov Video

Hi All,

I am using PD11 to produce a slideshow for a graduation event. The slide show needs to play on an Apple computer that controls the overhead projectors.

The slide show has a few 1440 x 1080 .m2ts video clips and a bunch of .jpg photos.

When I produce the video in PD11 using the .mov file format and selecting the 1920 x 1080 profile, the resulting video sections are very low-res and fuzzy.

Any suggestions?

In the Powerdirector 11 Produce Module, Standard 2D, MOV, did you click on the drop down (Profile Name/quality)?
There is a Quicktime Full HD 1920x1080 profile.

If you just used the first one, it is very low res. (160X90).

You might try the MPEG-4 profiles (Drop Down), there are more choices.

Yes, I selected the Quicktime Full HD1920 x 1080 profile on the .mov.

Do the .mp4's pay on a Mac without conversions?n I will be happy to use that instead.

The only way to be sure is to try one and see.

As far as I know MP4 is an Apple format.

Did you try the produced file on a player other than in Powerdirector?

You should be able to play MOV or MP4 in Quicktime player.

Hi BradyB -

The MAC won't have any trouble playing a variety of formats, including AVC & MPEG-4. Of course, it depends what software is being used... e.g. there is a VLC player for Mac OS which will play just about anything!

Are you assembling the slideshow/video clips as a single presentation? or separate files?

Of greater concern is those fuzzy videos. What format are the original 1440x1080 files?

Have you been instructed to provide a particular format for the projector?
You might be better doing the ini-hack to create the 1440 profile.
I gotta run, but someone will advise you on that, it's very easy.

Hi All,

I figured out the problem.

The .m2ts video is not running full screen. I had shrunk it down a little and used flower.jpg as a background wallpaper.

For some reason, this causes the video to be low-res in .mov files. Other formats seem to work fine. I have other .m2ts video clips in the slide show and they look fine in .mov format. Must be a small bug in the software.
