no issue like that is reported yet - can you explain more about your environment and possible installed other media players/codec packs?

suggest to update your VGA driver and please see #1
please check the Disc surface and the HDMI connection - maybe some issue from HW side

you can set the subtitle delay/offset for the subtiltes in the subtitle settings to adjust it

5. Sometimes OSD does not appear in full screen on clicking, only appears when switched to full screen again.[/color]

Hi which OSD do you mean - the navigaton bar or the info bar?
There is a new feature in PDVD that fades out the UI when moving mouse to left or right edge of the playback window:

If you face technical issues I would recommend to contact the support.

Im having the same problem as Devil Hunter with PowerDvd 13 Ultra. My PC has a AMD Radeon HD 5850 video card with Catalyst 13.1 drivers on a fresh install of windows 8 professional x64. No codecs installed. All settings in powerdvd 13 are left as default after install except hardware acceleration. I changed that to either software mode or software mode with true theater effects. I have a hard drive filled with .mkv , .vob , and .m2ts files. When launching any of those files with Powerdvd 13, all I get is a black screen and no audio. If i drag n drop the files into the playlist of powerdvd 13, all I get is video with no audio. I did find though that if i change powerdvd 13 settings back to hardware acceleration and drag n drop the files into the powerdvd 13 playlist, it would sometimes work (playing both the video and audio but only sometimes). I prefer to use software mode cause it looks better. I rolled back to powerdvd 12 ultra until a patch comes out to fix the problem with the new version.

Hi, I think I will also roll back to 12 for the time being. I found that I cannot add a two-part movie to the playlist. I made the playlist - and the user guide says drag and drop onto the playlist. Nothing happens. The guide says right click the media file and select "Add to" and choose your playlist. There are many "Add to" such as add to windows media player playlist" add to "rar archive" but the context menu "add to cyberlink power dvd 13 playlist" didn't make it onto my install. Amrita suggested I roll back in order to be able to use the magnifier since the big screen is my only monitor, so I will be doing that. thanks, Rich

Correction to last post:

I read the user guide one more time, and I saw the part BROWSE TO MEDIA FILE. Oh yeah, that means within Power DVD 13, not outside the player like I used to be able to do with Power DVD 10. So I browsed within the player, and then drag and drop worked perfectly. But without windows magnifier, to do all that, I have to walk back and forth to the big screen 10 feet away to see what I am doing - so I'll roll back to 12 which Amrita says supports the magnifier. - Rich

I had a problem with it not playing some 3D movies, also had lots of lip sync problems that i had to sort out by audio delay, however last night i downloaded a trial version of Arcsoft media player (15 day trial), no 3D problems, no lip sync problems, i am afraid Cyberlink has just lost a customer, i still support the other products such as Powerdirector and Photodirector, but the PowerDVD has been one big BETA for a very long time.

I’ve also found an issue with the contrast. Other versions of PowerDVD on this same PC don’t have the issue but in 13. It’s easy to see if you play a movie in a window. As soon as any video begins to play you can see a light gray rectangle where the video will play while the rest of the window is true black.

Hi Richard, Interesting issue.

Could you post a screen shot of the entire window. I thk I understand what you are saying but I want to confirm it. Are you using a standard definition video (4 by 3) in a high definition (16 by 9) project ?

I see part of a menu; is that menu for 4 by 3 or 16 by 9?

Where are you viewing the video - on your computer or on a TV/projector? If on a computer, what are your Windows display settings?

Has this just started or has it always been that way? .

Anything I post unless stated with a reference is my personal opinion.

Ok, it’s nothing complicated. Looks the same on my TV and computer screen. The other versions of PowerDVD do not do this. Most movies are at an aspect ratio other than 16:9 or 16:10 so you get black bars at the top. Some of that left over space is still part of the frame recorded in the movie. So if you use PowerDVD in a window and make that window more square than rectangle you get an area of black just under the PowerDVD title bar that is not part of the video frame. This makes it real easy to see what true black should look like. So in the picture you see a dark black bar then a light gray bar that is part of the video frame that was recorded but unused as the films aspect ratio is even shorter. This time around the PowerDVD 13 install doesn’t remove the pervious install of PowerDVD so I can run the film in both back and forth and it’s like flipping a switch that boosts the contrast. I noticed it right away so maybe it only affects certain video cards. I have an AMD 7970.
