So I have a new computer that I built and installed PowerDirector 9 on it. I was making a video and when I tried to create a disc it gave me this error message.

Error Message:
error code eC0030011
Transcoding engine's front end stream error might be due to:
-Broken or missing source file
-out of system memory

I've attached my DxDiag file about my computer. I just want to know why it's not working. Memory should not be a problem. I am using a SSD though. Also, while I'm working on projects I find that the program will stop working and shut down on my periodically. Please help!

A couple of things you can try.
1. Change the recording speed of your burner to a lower speed. Click the Options beside current drive.
2. Burn a Folder only and use third party burning software to burn the disk.

Your SSD is low on free space but it should be enough. Powerdirector works better if it has about 100 GB of free space on the C drive, but 60 GB is the minimum.

Why does it need so much free space to run a program?? Is that why my program keeps freezing on me?

This is the specs for Powerdirector, this is PD 11 but the specs for hard drive space has not changed.

As to why it needs that much space has to do with the size of the videos being edited. And the fact that there is often two copies in use at the same time.

A single layer BluRay disk is 25 GB, so if you were burning a full disk, you would have 50 GB of free space used on the hard drive for temporary storage while creating the data to burn to that 25 GB disk. A double layer BluRay disk is 50 GB so there is your 100 GB of space needed.

Okay I can see that now, but my total video size is only 3 gigs for an AVCHD format. I should have plenty of space for that. What else could I do to improve this? Should I just upgrade to 11? I downloaded the trial version and it still gives me errors and whenever I try to produce something the program crashes.

Can't I just install it on my other hard drive?

Yes, you can. Pay attention to the install path.

I installed it on my other hard drive but it still gives me the error. It does start working when I uncheck the "enable hardware video encoder".

Oh, and why does my computer use 100% CPU when I start burning a project?

That is probably normal.
The computer is doing a lot making a disk.

You may be able to reduce that a little if you produce your project to a MPEG2 HQ video then put that produced video on the timeline to burn the disk. If you are making a standard definition DVD.

A BluRay would require a H.264 video format.

The computer is rendering the video on the timeline and creating the DVD structure on the fly. That takes a lot of computer power.
