Controlling speed of the scrolling text

Just a quick question. Can the speed by which the scrolling text runs be control to slow it down? If so, how?

Simply extend the playing time of the title.
A line of text in a title timed to 5 seconds duration, will quickly scroll that text along a 5 second timeline.
Make the duration 10 seconds, and the same text will scroll for 10 sec.
