Best of the Best possible 3D final mix-down settings?
[Post New]
Hi I am a new member and user of PowerDirector 11.

Can someone suggest the absolute best settings for quality 3D output (side by side half scrn format)? My footage is from a Sony T10 camera. I love some of the unique features of PDirector 11 that I've recently bought but so far have not been able to produce what I would consider the highest quality final output that will play well on my LG 3DTV. I have used other software with pretty nice 3D final results, less grainy and compressed so I am confident Producer 11 can do it, I am just not sure which settings I should customize for best output? Longer rendering time is not an issue for me.

Thanks for any advice you can share.

Hi Artist3d2d,
Please can you provide a 5 second sample clip from your T10, unedited, a basic point and shoot 5 seconds recording. Please attach the sample to your reply.

The aim is to assess the sample footage and to see if a customize template would give you better results exactly matching the original footage.

Select Post Reply and then attach a the video file. Five seconds is plenty for what we need.

Hi Artist3d2d ,
Thank you for the clip.

I have used the below template, customized to suit the information obtained via MediaInfo. However, using Intelligent SVRT I was able to select a Default 3D Template in Produce. Both Custom and Default Profiles used SVRT and both produced different results!

Paste the information to: C:\Users\YOURPCNAME\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\11.0\Prifile.ini (open with NotePad). Your choice on what method/use you make of the information.

Dafydd

Thank you, I am pretty sure you meant me to look for a file called profile.ini and not prifile.ini --- I copy and pasted the above and have saved it over mine profile.ini but I cannot get it to show up in the list custom profiles within the program. In Produce, I am selecting 3D and trying either MP4 or AVC and when I choose Custom it says I do not have any saved profiles. I have attached my profile.ini if that helps. I noticed my original one had the coded formatted as you see, spread out and not listed down the page so I tried removing the line breaks and neither seems to work for me.

Hi Artist -

Try copying & pasting the contents of the attached into your Profile.ini - on my PD, it shows up under Produce > 3D > Custom > Artist. It uses the same details Dafydd posted above.

Cheers - Tony

Hi, I have a TD10 too

you should try the 3D profile H.264 AVC 1920x1080/60i 24Mbps with multi-view coding. It works fine with my 3D monitor.
if your player supports AVCHD2.0, you can try it too.

Those two solutions worked! Thank you all from a newbie to PD.
This is starting to feel like a wonderful video editing solution for 3D and the 2D-3D converter option is not half bad with mixing 2D footage with 3D videos together! Very happy with my purchase so far. I look forward to contributing to the community here.
