Create Disc Problem
[Post New]
I have a divx file of 1.5Gb. When I insert this file to create a DVD disc, the size of the divx balloons to 8.1Gb.

How come?

The DVD file will be bigger than the DivX. However, the file size estimated for create disc are known to be excessive. I generally burn to a folder first using the setting for an 8.5GB disc. Then I burn that to a disc, assuming the real DVD size is small enough. Unfortunately, this requires additional software since PD will not burn the folder to a disc once saved.

I will guess that a 1.5GB DivX will still end up over 5GB as a DVD. I could be wrong. __________________________________

There is plenty of free disk burning software. Cyberlink has Power2Go, there are free versions of Power2Go. If you are a Silver Member you can download a free version of Power2Go.

Just search for Disk Burning software.

I usually use Nero Burning Software however it cannot circumvent the problem. Power Director 13 LIVE 13.0.2104.0 64 Bit

I also use Nero Burning ROM. (It is not free).

The problem of final size on the DVD is because of the standard for a DVD Video Disk.
Only MPEG2 is used. The Bit rate is about 8-10 Mbps.
