Does Cyberlink convert NTSC to PAL or vice versa?

Sort of ! Why do you ask? if you are making a DVD to sent to a PAL country, then there is no need because the players there will play either. If someone makes one there and you want to play it on a US DVD player, then it does have to be converted. PD 11 will do that as part of creating a file or burning a disc.

Perhaps a little more clarification on why you are asking?

Exactly the reason. I wanted to make a DVD to send to a PAL country. Didn't realize exo-US players played both. So the PAL option on format selection is really meaningless.

Hi PeteS ,

Yep, but only where non-commercially (non-region) discs are concerned.

I'm in a PAL region but can/have played NTSC DVD's without a problem.

New question along these lines - I just moved to a PAL country from the US (NTSC). I'm going to purchase a new video HD camera - should I go PAL and then just convert files to PAL to send to families back home? Any thoughts? Anne MM
