Simple (?) Questions Re: Subtitles

Looking for some (I think) basic guidance on adding subtitles to a project. I know how to add and format a subtitle (that's pretty easy). What I can't figure out is how to 1) position a subtitle (i.e., where to position the subtitle in a video - the default is always centered at the bottom of the video) and 2) whether you can add a transition to a subtitle (e.g, fade in and fade out).

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thnx, Chuck

Subtitles (As done in the Subtitle Room) are always at the bottom of the TV safe zone and are usually 1,2 or 3 lines centered.

If you want to have Labels or Titles with all kinds of formatting and placement on the screen, Use Titles (F7).

Carl...thnx. I'm still looking for help in adding text right into a video (like having a message pop up in the video)...whereas a title page is something you insert before a video clip (I've done quite a few of them). I hope this response clarifies waht I'm trying to do and where I need help (position a subtitle anywhere in the video and addign a transition to the subtitle).

You can do all of that with Titles.
Use the Default Title. It is transparent and will put Text on top of video or images or color boards.

After you add the Default Title to the Title Track, Click Modify on top of the Timeline, you can change all of the attributes, Font Size, Font Color, placement, and Effects. Plus movement. And the duration.
