Just installed Windows 8 with Media Center. Purchased PowerDvd 12 and installed it. I am using MyMovies with Windows Media Center. In the MyMovies collection management program I set BR files to open with PowerDvd. When I click on the "Play" button in Windows Media Center it says "powerdvd won't support the playback of this media type".

If I open up powerdvd manually and browse the folder where the Blu Ray rips are, it will play just fine. This leads me to believe that it has something to do with WMC or the Mymovies collection management.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any clues.

p.s. I used this same exact method with windows7 & pdvd 11 and never had a problem.

Uninstalled pdvd12 and reinstalled pdvd11 and now all is well. Such bs. I think a refund is in order.

Contact Cyberlink directly for any refund. This is a users group and can't help you with that. Go here:

Was it a download or a disc. If download, there is a possibility of a bad download and install. If disc, things like your anti-virus might wreak havock with the install. .

I think it downloaded just fine. I installed it twice. Might still hold on to it in case they come up with a fix. Not sure yet.
