can't produce a project in .mov format

I am new to the community and have powerdirector 11. I am working on clips, editing them and then trying to produce the video, but the .mov option does not work. I mean it is there and appears available, but when I select that options it shows n/a as the output results. How do i get past that. I think that saving it in .mov format is important because these clips need to be seen in QuickTime. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated

I edit many MOV HD files and render to MOV as well. I do not have your problems.

Please offer much more detail on your project and your PC. Win 10, i7

If you are using the trial version, you could have trouble producing h.264 MOV video if you don't have Windows 7. I believe that feature (AVC/h.264) is disabled in the trial if you have Windows XP. Gateway DX4380, AMD A8-5500 Quad Core 3.2GHz with ATI Radeon HD 7560D; 16GB RAM; 1 TB SATA 7200 RPM; Windows 8 Pro 64-bit; PDR11, PDVD12.
