I want to send a disc to America (produced in UK) but can not work out how to create a disc in NTSC.
I tried setting the Profile to NTSC on the Produce tag but when I try to open the file produced in PowerDirector 10 it comes up with an error message.
I tried just leaving the NTSC setting in Produce and Created a disc but I can only presume that it did not produce it in NTSC as I can play it on my DVD player.

Are you aware that many "PAL" DVD player will have no problem playing a NTSC DVD? The opposite is not true.

How do you know that you did not produce a NTSC DVD? .

If you want to make sure you are producing a NTSC Disc.

1. Change your Preference settings, under the GENERAL tab and change the TV FORMAT to NTSC(30FPS).

2. Then do all of your editing on the timeline that you want to do.

3. Then go directly to the CREATE DISC area. No need to Produce your video first. It will be created when you burn your disc in the next step.

4. Select the DVD Format, set up your audio and video preferences and then BURN DISC.

With your Preference setting changed to NTSC(30FPS) your DVD will be in that format.

I hope this helps.

Thanks to Stevek & Kevin.
Stevek- No, I was unaware that NTSC is playable on PAL players.
Kevin - Changing the setting is stupidly simple, why I didn't think of it is beyond me!!!!
