Can I make a motion background in my PowerDirector11
[Post New]
Before I knock myself out trying to find the correct video, (due to time constraints) will I be able to make some high quality motion background of this caliber http://creative.newlifechurch.tv/downloads/backgrounds/page/2 with PowerDirector 11? I am thinking I should be able to, but could use someone who knows how already to point me in the right direction of some video tutorials. Thanks. Just a quick question. Where are you going to use them in a video production or as a DVD background image? .

Anything I post unless stated with a reference is my personal opinion.

Here are some free motion backgrounds:

The question of if you can make your own motion backgrounds, answer is yes you can.

Here a tutorial made by a person that uses Flour. You have to see it.

Hi, pab82

(Carl…..the one you’re referring to is THE person. I believe I some time ago pointed out this video by Andrew Kramer.)

That aside; making background motions is one of my favourit things. It’s not a quick fix, or at least it hasn’t been for me. It implies imagination, creativity, maybe having built up a library of close-ups/macroes in ones video folders. (I am not ashamed to admit it has taken me years to be able to create motion backgrounds of some quality.)

Then, it’s usually a question of working with “layers”, or video tracks in this case, involving opacity levels, hue&saturation, blurs, keyframing etc. It’s doable in PD, although the high quality motions you find on sites mostly are done in AfterEffects.
If you watch tutorials made for other editor programs, you will find that you can transfer many pointers in to PD.

(PS: if you are in need of something special real quick, maybe I can assist)

Nina

Well after watching the tutorials and seeing the price of Adobe After Effects software, OMG, I see I don't have the time or money to create the high quality stuff that the program allows one to. Oh well I will have fun learning and creating with my PowerDirector software though! W10 on Dell Desktop, 64 bit, 32GB RAM, Intel(R)Core(TM) I5- 3350P CPU, 3.10 Ghz, 1 TB HD, free space - 200 GB

Hobbys can be very expensive

With time and experience, you will learn of ways to do things, without costing a Arm and Leg.

It is just a matter of how much you want it. Whatever it is.

Hi,
other than a "video production" I am not sure of what you need.
I have uploaded 3 motions here: http://www.4shared.com/zip/zKzgMQP6/backgr_nina.html
.mov and .mp4 files, 194Mb.

You may have use for it, but then again you may not.
Anyway. What you might consider doing, with these files or others;
- you cut (or not) in to the motion, getting what you think might be the best for you.
- you adjust time, - use PowerTools (slower/faster)
- you adjust hue&saturation (to your liking/needs)
- you adjust opacity (to your liking)
- you try different combinations of overlays (what is underneath/overlayed tracks) in combination of the above

regards,
Nina

Thanks so much again guys. With the Holidays upon us I think I am going to splurge for the Cyberlinks Holiday package and then learn next year how to do more things myself!! Someone gave me $50 for an early Christmas present today so that will about cover it!! W10 on Dell Desktop, 64 bit, 32GB RAM, Intel(R)Core(TM) I5- 3350P CPU, 3.10 Ghz, 1 TB HD, free space - 200 GB
