How to change the fade time in text

I have text that I want to fade in and out. I have it doing it the default way but was wondering if there was a way to change the default fade time to have it come in and go out a little quicker than it is? Thanks W10 on Dell Desktop, 64 bit, 32GB RAM, Intel(R)Core(TM) I5- 3350P CPU, 3.10 Ghz, 1 TB HD, free space - 200 GB
