I purchased a new HP desktop Windows 8 from Costco and it came with Power Director 11 Deluxe. I purchased Power Director 11 Ultra for $59.99 and downloaded all three applications. After I downloaded all three applications, I clicked on the first application and it does not respond. Please HELP!

Can you post a copy of your dxdiag.txt from your computer? What is the first installer that you tried to run? You run the application installer, then the content packages. It is possible that you may need to run as administrator, but there are some on here that have Windows 8 and will be able to answer more completely if there is a trick. __________________________________

Please see the attached DxDiag. The following are the three files that I downloaded when I purchased Ultra:
1_CyberLink_PowerDirector11_Ultra_G3_VDE120914-01
2_CyberLink_PowerDirector11_ContentPack_Essential_PCP120712-02
3_CyberLink_PowerDirector11_ContentPack_Premium_PCP120712-01

You mentioned that I should run the "application installer". Where do I obtain that file? Thanks for your help!

The application is the first installer in your list above. 1_CyberLink_PowerDirector11_Ultra_G3_VDE120914-01 __________________________________

There have been some driver issues with nvidia. I'm not sure if that would cause your problem, but you might try updating. Your driver is dated from July. I think the latest PD build fixed the issues, but that is a good place to start. Update the driver and run the installers in the order you have them above. __________________________________

The easiest way to to simply download the correct driver for your graphics card from the nvidia web site and install it. According to your dxdiag.txt you have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 620. They may even have a standard driver that works for all current graphics cards. You may also find a link here in the forums, but you would probably have to look back several pages. __________________________________
