Hi,
I think what you may be experiencing is a strain being put on your PC by combining two animated clips. Without knowing the specifications of your PC I can't be totally sure. The combination of the Particle effect and the animated text exiting the screen playing back simultaneously may have caused your PC to struggle a bit. The reason the text works perfectly when you remove the Particle effect in the Preview window is because you eliminated the stress on your PC to display your timeline properly. Each Particle effects put varying degrees of difficulty when playing back in the preview window.
Would you care to do a simple test for me?
Start a new project and place your chosen particle and text only in the timeline with the same duration. If things are still the same, you should experience your same observations.
Now select the Produce window and make a video clip. The video clip once finished will be placed into the Media Room. Play this completed movie in the media room. Does it play back smoothly? Does the text play in your produced video clip as expected?
If you answer "yes it does" then you are simply seeing your PC struggle to playback your timeline smoothly while editing. If you choose to produce your current project I will bet it will look fine as well. You can make the preview play more smoothly during editing by lowering the preview window playback resolution to a lower setting. This will be less demanding on your PC resources.
If you answer " no the produced video still doesn't look right" then I would have to look for another cause. As Carl pointed out that it may be a faulty title or clip.
