Hi all, Ever since i have installed PD 11, I have lost all my music in smartsound. After i have clicked magic music in timeline and then smartsound button nothing appears. What do ihave to do to get it back? I have Sonicfire 5 installed on my computer and all albums i have purchased play okay.Should they play in PD 11? Hoping for some help. Graeme

They should work.

I had the exact same problem, but something I clicked on did the old "database update" thing and everything reappeared. I really wish I could remember what I did.

That's not very helpful, I know, but don't give up hope. Jerry Schwartz

I have my media on external hard drives since I have a huge collection of smartsound music and all I had to do was to tell sonicfire to look the music on the external hard drive and powerdirector recognized that without more configurations. Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro

Hi Graeme -

Jerry's suggestion about rebuilding the SmartSound database is a good one. There's no reason why installing PD11 should interfere with SmartSound working properly.

It might be worth checking the C:\ProgramData\SmartSound Software Inc folders to ensure all your sound files and libraries are present.

Cheers - Tony

Bingo!

I'm pretty sure that's what I did. When PD11 came up empty, I used SonicFire to double-check. It ran an update, and that apparently rebuilt the database. Jerry Schwartz

Hi. Problem solved. Sonicfire pro 5 is not what PD11 recognizes. It is Quicktracks, (QX518 CF) which was missing on my computer, once downloaded PD11 accepted the music. SmartSound is the name of company like Cyberlink and Sonicfire is an Audio like Wave editor and Quicktracks is a file that holds music folders and why that went missing i dont know. Still sounds a bit confusing. Thankyou to all who answered my problem. Graeme
