J key doesn't bring up Bluray menu
[Post New]
When watching bluray discs in Cinema Mode with PowerDVD 12, pressing the J key on the keyboard doesn’t bring up the main menu. The only options are to press CTRL+P for the pop up menu or the L key to bring up a box that lets you select from all the menus on the disc. The lack of the J key responding with blurays is preventing me from programing my Harmony remote as I wish. The J key works while playing DVDs so I don’t understand why it doesn’t work on blurray discs.

Did you look at the options described in the Cinema Mode options? I think that you can get what you want with the 'Info" button on the remote. .

I guess I could have been a little clearer. Click on Cinema Mode and then select settings and help. (see image)

There's nothing there about using the J key to go straight to the menu. It only talks about the pop up menu box that lets you select from all the menus on the disc.

Isn't that what you are after? Did you search for the "j" key. If it is not there, perhaps that gives you a hint that it is not available. .

Try this:

In the Settings, in the Blu-Ray Disc section, disable the "Enable BD-J keyboard support" option - this should make all the keyboard shortcuts work. My collection: http://www.blu-ray.com/community/collection.php?u=194008&action=showcategory&category=1&categoryid=7

It is already disabled.

Well, I can confirm that the "J" key works flawlessly here - PowerDVD 12 with latest patch (v2118a). My collection: http://www.blu-ray.com/community/collection.php?u=194008&action=showcategory&category=1&categoryid=7

It's working with Blurays in Cinema Mode? I have it working for DVDs in Cinema Mode but not Blurays.

No you are right, it works in Classic mode, but NOT in Cinema mode - there is indeed a bug. My collection: http://www.blu-ray.com/community/collection.php?u=194008&action=showcategory&category=1&categoryid=7
