Maximum Video Crops?

I was editing away, I had carved up my video (of a play produciton) into clips, and was applying crop.
All of a sudden, Power Tools options just disappears. And I can't put a transition across clips.
If I select earlier, cropped clips, Power Tools reappears.
What gives?
Also, I was trying to trim the video down to fit on a single DVD (by trimming out scene changes and what have you). It's larger now than when I started.
What gives, #2?
Any help appreciated. Chuck Puckett

Hi Chuck -

Ask #!
I reckon there might be a little space between the clips... which might account for (a) Power Tools going AWOL & (b) inability to apply a transition.

Power Tools is only available when you have a single video clip or image selected.
Transitions can only be applied to adjacent clips or images (i.e. no space between them)

There is no maximum number of video crops per project if that's what you mean.

Ask #2
Larger? Do you mean the produced file size? or the estimated disc size?

What's the recording format/profile? (including bitrate)

Cheers - Tony

Hi chuckpuckett,

Re: the disappearing PowerTools. Just another possibility.
Did you edit any of the video clip's “audio” (using Wave Editor), in those clips that no longer provide you with the Power Tools options?

If so, try this. . .
- Right click on the clip
- Choose “Unlink Video and Audio”
- Click on a blank space in any timeline track
- Click on and highlight just the upper “Video” portion of the clip.

Your PowerTools (and other editing) options should now be available again.
