First of all, I'm not going anywhere.

Look at the archives and you'll see I've been here over a year already hammering home the same theme.

And that theme is PD doesn't have the core titles and effects all the other video editing apps do.

And I figured out why: somewhere along the line some corporate bean-counter convinced everyone there was no need to spend money or Useful core effects and themes because there were millions of users in China and Ubekestan willing to submit their effects and titles.

Great cost-cutting idea except for one thing -- people who don't live in China and Ubekestan won't touch any of that stuff with a ten foot pole. No American would use the MGM lion intro for any of his videos. That may be cool in Ubekestan but it isn't in the states.

Gary,
nobody wants you to go away (yet). This is a great forum, and we happily help people get thru editing difficulties.
That being said, posting this over and over and over in a place that cannot change anything about your disenchantment with the admittedly cheesy quality of the majority of DZone content, it does nothing and goes nowhere. Try bitching at Cyberlink via email, we are not Cyberlink, we are unpaid volunteers, except for a tiny handful of Mods who cannot do anything about marketing. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
Nvidia GTX 960(4GB)/16GB DDR3/
Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.
Tape capture using 6 VCR, TBC-1000, Elite BVP4+, Sony D8 camcorder with TBC.

A note to the young C.B. DeMille Wannabe,
a good video is about story-line, video quality (to some degree), sound/music.
Fancy titles can be too distracting, FX can be overdone. Just try to make your message/point, and make careful and sparse use of extras, capture good sound, watch the lighting, you'll get better reviews from your friends, unless of course you treat THEM the way you treat US, here. Now I will no longer respond to your posts unless they are respectful, I hope others will follow, but it's a free forum. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Gary -

I think we've all got the message about what you think of the titles & "effects". As we've said, we're just PD users & cannot influence the marketing people at CL. You've continued to ignore that & taken out your dislike of a piece of software on members who have tried to assist.

Sony Vegas has a lot to offer & I'm sure their forum does too. I hope you remember to address your fellow Vegas users with respect... or they'll probably lose their cool with you too.

In some of your various other threads about the very same thing, you were asked questions that are still unanswered. You were asked to show members some titles & "effects" you thought were useful, but you haven't done that. It seems like you only want to gripe rather than do anything to make it better.

We're on the same side here. We edit videos & help each other when we can. NO ONE deserves to be called names or addressed with disrespect.

BarryTheCrab is no bum (or whatever you edited out). He's a valued & respected forum member... & if he was filming tumbleweeds at dusk, he'd have the lighting & soundtrack just right!

Cheers - Tony

I use Sony Vegas Pro, iMovie, FCPX and Motion but PD is miles in front with their ease of use UI and speed of rendering - sure their default titles suck, but hey it's fun making your own.

Happy editing Happing editing
