Hardware acceleration cleared when editing AVC files - library becomes non-responsive.

Working with several AVC type video files loaded in the library of PD 11 (either version 2111 or 2115), PD11 eventually will not load or play back any video clips from the library. Loading images or audio is OK or playing back anything on the timeline. The library becomes locked and very long delays (> 10 sec) occur before PD11 recovers from any attempted access to the library.

When this happens PD11 deselects hardware acceleration (HA) on it's own (previously selected as default) and the option becomes greyed out !

Saving the project (PD11 never actually crashes), closing PD11, restarting PD11, selecting HA, re-loading the same project puts everything back to normal until the next incident.

It looks like PD11 is getting hung up with video processing and gets lost in the process.

Any comments from experienced users with ATI graphics cards ? I have tried old and new ATI drivers with no difference. Win 10, i7

Think you might need to look at my problem posts. I am having to upgrade my PC to get the best out of PD11

You have a new(ish) machine?

UPDATE : Have removed ATI Catalyst version 12.10 and re-loaded it.

For some reason the problem noted earlier has disappeared ???? !!!!
