Not me; it opens and closes quickly. Have you had it open long enough at one time for it to find and load all your resources (videos, images, music, etc)? .

I open it in cinema mode so I am not sure but I don't even have any resources to load. I only use it to play discs.

I set mine to cinema mode and it took about 2 seconds to load. If I open in classic mode and then switch to cinema mode it takes about 4 or less seconds to switch. I do get a indication that it is switching. I gather that you are not getting any kind of indication that something is happening - even flashing light on your optical drive?

Sorry, I can't get it to pause (hang) for 10 seconds and I tried a lot of settings.

What else do you have running. Do you have a pretty good and fast computer. Try temporarily turning off your anti-virus (disconnect from the internet if you wish) to see if it will start faster. .

I'm gonna try seeing if there are any programs running in the background and get back to you. I have an Intel X9650 with 4 GB of ram running Windows 7 X64 on a SSD drive so my hardware shouldn't be an issue.

This happens to me also running cinema mode. It takes 10-20 seconds to get the large 'busy' symbol up, then a brief access to the blu-ray drive and the menu appears. When I close the application, it takes another 10-20 seconds to get control back, during which time I can move the mouse but the computer is otherwise unresponsive.
I'm looking into it, but it sounds to me like it's looking for something and timing out.
Performance is otherwise very good.

I haven't had the problem since I upgraded to Windows 8.
