There is an icon in my taskbar notification area that produces a popup reading "CyberLink PowerDVD." Neither left-clicking nor right-clicking on it produces any response. Why does such a useless icon exist? How do I remove it?

System: Microsoft Windows 8 Enterprise x64, CyberLink PowerDVD 12 Ultra Version 12.0.2118a.57.

I found that you can remove that background exe by removing below registry key.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
PowerDVD12Agent

However, if you do use PowerDVD to sync media into your portable device, removing that registry key would cause the auto-syncing to be mal-function. You have to start PowerDVD to do the content sync.
