Old problems in 3D not fixed in Ultra 64bit

I still can not get Ultra 64 bit to recognize the dual stream (Fuji) AVI format. It is a dual stream MJPEG format. Curiously Windows Media Player 64bit does recognize it, but displays it as 2 separate windows. The PD 10 Ultra 32bit does recognize and decode the Fuji format properly. Neither the 32 nor the 64 bit PD10 nor the new PD allow you to create a dual stream 3d MJPEG AVI. So the old 3D problems are still there. Has anyone had success with Ultra 64bit in getting it to recognize the Fuji formal 3D AVIs?????

Support claims that my test file worked for them, but I think they lie. So I asked them what codec they were using to get it to work and whether they were using the 64bit version. They need someone in house who knows 3D. It is like the days when Kodak got rid of their special 3D mounting service and farmed it out. The result was awful mounting because the techs did not understand 3D.

The problem with FPR horizontal strip 3D monitors is still in version 11. Essentially if you move the window up or down 1 scan line the r & L images swap so you switch between strereo and pseudoscopic stereo where the foreground and background are reversed in depth. Obviously they did not have anyone who know 3D, how it works, and the necessary monitor to preview it properly. Sometimes the switch happens when you just go from full screen to small window, or switch windows. It is really annoying and this makes it impossible to keep the R/L perspective straight so when you burn something in 3D you may end up with the views swapped.

Can you attach a short clip for us to test or have we already done that? As for the monitor, I should have one soon and can test that further, but is the problem just in the editing environment or is it in the produced movie. I know we have discussed this before, but I don't remember how it ended. __________________________________

I just did a quick test and created a short 3D video on my Fuji. I copied it to PD11 and it recognized it immediately as 3D.

That's the first step. what test next ? Intel Core i7 3770K 3.6 Ghz,
GTX 680, 2 X Benq23 3D monitors,
6G DDR3, Win 7 64, Win 10 (Insider) 64
PCIE SSD, Intel Sata SSD 2 500 Gbyte Seagate,
Minoru 3D WebCam, NVIDIA 3D Vision-Ready

Is this the 64bit PD 11? Because it is the 64bit version that fails. If you do have the 64bit version working, then We need to find out what codecs you have installed. That can be found by starting Windows Media Player.
Then click on "Help". You might have to press "alt" to have "help" appear.
Click "About Windows Media Player"
Then click on "Technical Support Information"
wait a little while...
Scroll down on the support info to codecs. Here are mine:

Microsoft RLE
Microsoft Video 1
Microsoft YUV
Intel IYUV codec
Toshiba YUV Codec
Fraps Video Decompressor
Huffyuv v2.1.1
Xvid MPEG-4 Codec
ffdshow Video Codec
Mpeg4s Decoder DMO
WMV Screen decoder DMO
WMVideo Decoder DMO
Microsoft Zune Mpeg4s Decoder DMO
Mpeg43 Decoder DMO
Mpeg4 Decoder DMO

I got these by starting the Win 64bit Media Player. The 32bit WMP also shows the 32bit Morgan codecs that I purchased. Hmmm

Sorry, I got lost in understanding the problem. I downloaded the file and added it to PD 11. It came in as 3 separate files. I added the "road" and then the woman walking. I added just one of the files. When I did that, I got check marks indicating that both of those "woman" files were added. I previewed it and saw a very good 3d video of the woman. I also looked at the road and it was also 3D but not as dramatic as the "woman".

The program asked me to change frame rate display ratio and I told it no.

What now?

By the way, I was at Delphi over 30 years ago and found that it was a good place to do some contemplation.

OOps, I just found a third video ; the cat.

As I said the 32bit version of PD10 works just fine importing multi-stream AVI. This is installing it on an older XP machine. So I went back and looked at the installed codecs. Nowhere could I find an install MJPEG codec so PD10 32bit must have an internal MPEG codec which is missing or defective in the 64bit bersion. I do find that the 32bit version will output dual-stream h.264 files. So PD 11 seems to have regressed as far as 3D support.

When I installed PD10 64bit it originally did not recognize the codec for a multi-stream AVI. When I installed the trial Morgan 64bit MJPEG codec, it started loading the file, but only sees it as a 2D file. MP11 works in the same fashion. So PD10&11 64bit apparently need an external codec for MJPEG.

The XP Codecs are:
Name Format
Cinepak Codec by Radius cvid
Intel 4:2:0 Video V2.50 I420
Intel IYUV codec IYUV
Microsoft RLE MRLE
Microsoft Video 1 MSVC
Microsoft YUV UYVY
Toshiba YUV Codec Y411
Microsoft YUV UYVY
Microsoft H.263 Video Codec M263
Microsoft H.261 Video Codec M261
ASUS ASV2 CODEC ASV2
XviD MPEG-4 Codec XVID
Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V1 MPG4
Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2 MP42
Huffyuv v2.1.1 HFYU
Mpeg4s Decoder DMO mp4s, MP4S, m4s2, M4S2
WMV Screen decoder DMO MSS1, MSS2
WMVideo Decoder DMO WMV1, WMV2, WMV3, WMVA, WVC1, WMVR, WMVP, WVP2
Mpeg43 Decoder DMO mp43, MP43
Mpeg4 Decoder DMO MPG4, mpg4, mp42, MP42

Notice the lack of MJPEG.

All I can tell you is what I found. I'm not big into adding codecs because there can be issues with them.

Again, what was I supposed to look at? .
