Web-cam capture gives me the video but not the audio from the Microsoft Life-Cam. Is there an obvious problem? I had no problem capturing both video and audio in Windows Movie Maker.

Another Bubba !

I don;t have your web cam but I just tried it with my Logitech Web Cam and the voice came in loud and clear. Make sure that the record volume is high enough to start with. Look to the right under "Settings" to make sure that the right audio device is selected and that the volume there is also high.

Look at the mixer option and see if the web cam microphone is enabled.

Since I don't have that web cam, there may be some adjustments there also. .

Sorry I've been absent. But while I was on vacation, I downloaded the trial version of PD11 and discovered what I was doing wrong. You both were right from the start . . . it was a setting in the capture mode that was set for cd audio input rather than the camera audio. If you guys hadn't seared into my brain that it had to be a "setting", I wouldn't have resolved it.

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

Now, it's on to figuring out how to mix multiple slide, video and audio inputs to create a smooth flow of the visual over multiple audio/music tracks.
