You have to click on the + sign and create a custom profile. There you can set a new bitrate. __________________________________

Sorry, that's in Produce. I don't think it can be changed for creating a DVD. Maybe someone will have a way that I do not know about. __________________________________

The DVD creation process is fixed at a certain bitrate, however I think JL_JL found a way to slightly raise the bitrates in MPEG2 to a level where PD did not notice it, and therefore did not re-encode the file, retaining the higher rate...I never quite grasped it fully, but the post is here somewhere, probably PD 8 or 9. Almost all video editors they have this option where I can change the bitrate for beter quality, I do not understand why Cyberlink has not this option and 8000 bitrate is to low.. to bad

You can render your project to a custom MPEG2, and then burn that file to a DVD format using your favorite disc-burning software. It's not a perfect solution, but a DVD player may not like your disc if it does not fall within certain parameters. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

See previous posts, particularly my mention of JL_JL and his bitrate-trick. However, using other software to burn your MPEG2 is not against the law, we all understand not every NLE does everything perfect, being a great editor means using various softwares, but we all use PD for assembly of our productions. I've burned many DVD's at various bit rates (with another DVD burner) and frankly speaking most people cannot tell the visual difference between 8K or 9.8K. Sometimes not even between 5K and 8K !

Your problem may be of another source. I suggest that you post a short clip on this forum for others to test out.
