I currently have Photodirector 3 although I am asking cyberlink about a free upgrade to Photodirector 4 since I upgraded to 3 just 3 days before 4 came out.

What I would like to do is create a "jagged edge" or "burned edge" effect on some of my pictures. Is this possible in Photodirector?

Hello ouangel,

You can do that, but not without using other graphics software to create the edge/frame. Once that's done you can use it in PhotoDirector.

First make the frame/edge

Next, import the edge image into PhD to use in Photo Composer

After saving, use the background removal tool to make the edge transparent

Finally - save your edited image

I've put all that into a short video tutorial

Members,

I'm attaching a set of edge masks I made when preparing the tutorial above.

They're nothing special, but may be of use to you if you want to give your photos an "edge". Sorry

Pix,

Thanks. I'll use them . . . I like to have a wide variety . . I'm a little new at all this photo editing and am creating my sons senior pictures and am having a lot of fun doing it. These will make it a little more fun in experimenting. Thanks again. I did as you said above and it worked perfectly.
