Rendering times a lot slower between PD9 and PD11???

Can anyone please help?

I imported AVCHD files from my Panasonic camcorder and, after editing, rendered it to MPEG-2 DVD HQ. The length of the project is around 1hr 10mins.

On PD9 I stopped the render after 10 mins and it had rendered 9 mins 36 seconds. The CPU utilisation ranged from 40-70% across the 4 cores.

On PD11 after 10 mins it had only rendered 6 mins 7 seconds and the CPU utilisation was 50-80%. So despite using more CPU the render times were much slower.

As you can see it means PD9 was around 50% quicker than PD11 which was unexpected and very disappointing to say the least.

I checked all the settings in both PD versions and believe they are the same so I can't see any reason why the performance should be so different?

My PC spec is:
Win 7 64-bit
Intel Q6600 Quad Core Processor
6 Gb RAM
GeForce 8800 GTS 320 Mb

Any ideas what is wrong?

Thanks.

NOTE: I thought I had put this in the PowerDirector 11 forum but it seems to be in PowerDVD and I don't know how to move it???

I think you are in the wrong forum. This is PowerDVD11 playback software, not creation software, which I'm guessing you are looking for PowerDirector.

Correct. You can also contact support and create a ticket about this if this is a paid version.
