How can I create a B&W photo with one object in the photo in color?

I am working on my sons senior pictures and have one that I want to change to B&W but leave one object in color and I just can't seem to figure out how to do it. I'm sure I'm just not looking for the right terminology.

Hello ouangel,

To do that you need to use Manual Adjustment > Regional.

1. Use the adjustment selection tool to select/mask the area/object you want to keep in colour (in this case, the duck)

2. Click on Invert Mask - which selects the area outside the object (duck)

3. Make whatever adjustments you wish to the area - saturation to -100
