Unfortunately, no.

I have been frustrated to no end with the terrible slow motion "feature" of PowerDirector.

Third Party software, like "Twixtor", is not available for PowerDirector. I suppose they consider a software that costs six times as much as the video editor would not sell so well.

The best option I have been able to find, is to film at the highest FPS setting your camera will operate at. For example, 60 FPS or hopefully 120FPS.

Then, slow it down by 50% with PowerDirector. Produce. Now possibly, re-import and slow again by 50%. Does not always give decent quality though if you slow it a second time.

The "interpolation" feature I find to be completely worthless in PowerDirector as it makes the quality absolutely horrid. ~Tom~

I was afraid someone was going to say that..."No you can't slow it down dramatically (still appearing smooth) and NO there aren't any decent vendor add-ons".

And I do understand what you meant about slowing it, importing it back it for a second time, etc... I didn't care for that either.

Oh well, maybe future versions will have better interpolation.

Further to Tom's great advice here's what I do:

Open a new project.

1. Import the clip I want in slow mo.

2. Separate and remove the audio

3. Select slow motion speed

4. Produce clip as close to original as possible

5. Import this Produced clip back into my original project

I find that removing the audio from the video clip improves the slow motion effect - at least on my system.

Great point

What I meant was to Produce your solo slow mo clip as close to the original video clip.

Original clip 1920x1080 24mbps AVCHD then Produce as that.

Bear in mind that this Produced slow mo clip will be imported to your original project and will sit on the timeline with other 1920x1080 mbps AVCHD clips.
