Tracy,
The problem is now solved and quite frankly I am surprised that you nor anyone else at your end does not know about what I am going to outline;
The problem with my PD9 64bit (produced file was corrupted) did not occur until I upgraded my PC to W7 64bit from XP Professional (32bit). Despite all your endless ideas of turning things off on the PD9 software, and other software being turned off, the situation persisted no matter what I tried. I also tried the software on my laptop (W7 32bit) same problems.
I tried a trial version of PD10 64 bit and got error messages both on my PC and Laptop; you were unable to find out the problem. I then tried some forums including yours and guess what; it is a problem with the trial version that was only resolved by the people trying it out, by getting the full version. Why you were unable to tell me this is beyond me.
I then loaded PD10 32bit version (a friend’s), it worked on my laptop with no problems but would not work on my PC without the same problems. I bought the full version PD10 64bit and loaded onto my PC. Bingo! It now works with everything turned on. My conclusion is that there is a fault with various combinations of 32/64bit working on various combinations of W7 32/64bit (maybe even Home Premium and Professional).
You clearly have a software issue with PD9 64 which will not work on my PC or Laptop W7, 64 or 32bit.
I find it difficult to believe that no one else has encountered the same problem. All I know is that it has taken nearly two months, days of trialling, and cost in eventually having to spend out on buying PD10 64 bit which has no advantage over PD9 for what I need it for.
I am relieved, but also very annoyed.
Tim
