Magic Motion button missing

OS is Win 7 - Computer is Intel i7 2.67 GHz 64 bits 390 GB free space on the HD NVIDIA GeForce 250 graphics

A few months ago, I have uploaded and installed PD 10 and Content Packs 1 and 2. I've made a few short videos successfully. Now I'd like to make my first slide show. I don't want to use the Templates, but only want to present the still images, with some transitions. It would be very nice to use Magic Motion with a few of my images.

When I first used PD 10, I was able to access the Magic Motion button. Now that button does not appear, and a couple of other buttons are also missing.

Checking past posts on this general topic, I think this means I must uninstall PD 10 and the Content Packs, and reinstall them - but I have to anticipate that (1) I may have trouble with that uninstall/reinstall, and (2) it may not solve the problem anyway. Is this correct?

Rather than lose PD 10 altogether, I'd prefer to do slide shows without Magic Motion - but it would be a very nice feature to have.

Any thoughts on the above?

Aha! I see part of the answer now. Apparently Magic Motion (MM) is only available when you select a single image from a slide show - makes good sense!

I have two follow-up questions though:except for the "user defined" MM, the image is cropped by about 15-20% as MM is applied. Is there a way to have MM applied to the entire image, without cropping?

Second question - if a style of MM is applied to an image, is there any way to modify the MM or to change to another style of MM, other than removing the image and re-inserting it into the time line? Bill Hansen

Q: Is there a way to have MM applied to the entire image, without cropping?
A: No, unless you crop something, there is nowhere for the virtual camera to roam.

Q2: is there any way to modify the MM or to change to another style of MM, other than removing the image and re-inserting it into the time line?
A: With the image in the timeline, hilighted, and the Magic Motion module open, you can scroll through any number of motion-paths and choose at will, inicluding the user-defined choice. You do not have to remove/replace the image, each change over-rides the last.

Thanks Barry - that does help. I'm working through this quickly, without any special effects except for transitions for now. But I want to use MM on some of the images in a second version of the slide show. - Bill Bill Hansen

MM is a simple, common effect that really works very well in many different scenarios, it really brings photos to life. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
