I'm using PD10 with update #1703.

I have been working with support and they have sent me on a number of "wild goose chases" to no avail.

I am unable to open PD at all.

I've attached the files that I sent to support (4 days ago) with no response,

1) Set your display back to 96 dpi; you have it set higher.
2) Update the driver for your video device. Yours is about a year old. Do not trust Windows to do it.
3) Do not try to use drive "e" for anything unless you clean it up. BTW, when did you last clean up your system drive and defrag it?

Sometime it takes more than over a weekend to get a response from Tech Support. Check your spam filter to make sure that any response doesn't end up there. .

OK. I reset dpi and updated driver from HP. The first time I tried to run PD software stopped responding. The next time I tried to start I got the message "PDR10.exe stopped working" again.

Do you remember if you had your anti-virus active when you installed the program? Have you used any registry cleaners? Some overly aggressive anti-virus programs have known to cause issues with the registry either by not allowing all the "itmes" to be registered properly or to delete the necessary ones.

Please let me know before I suggest a next step. .

The answer to the first question is yes. To be honest I was having so much trouble trying to get the software installed, based on instructions from support, I forgot to turn off Norton. Support never said anything.

I believe I used a registry cleaner a couple of months ago....from Xfinity(Comcast). This is the first time trying to use PD since then.

Time to do a reinstall with the anti-virus OFF and NEVER,EVER use a Registry cleaner. I hope that it didn't screw things up too badly. .

Try to install over what you have now; what have you got to lose except a few extra minutes?

I always like to uninstall and then reinstall. Sometimes I even use the free Revo Uninstaller in the MODERATE Mode to uninstall a program. .

By the way, to reinstall PDR 10 I had to reinstall PDR9 too. PDR9 worked when I activated it.

I agree and Google does a decent job. As soon as I have time and get a little more information, then I will do a Google translation of the posts. .

I did the translations myself.....do you have any more ideas on how to fix my problem. After reinstalling, I am still getting the message PDR.exe has stopped working.

And I don't like 96 dpi. I'm guessing that since I'm still getting the problem at the lower dpi I can change back to a higher dpi??

Hi igolfccod,

Just thinking here, does PD10 have admin rights?

Right click on the desktop shortcut for PD, select Properties, click on the Compatability tab and look if there is a box that says Run as Administrator, if its not checked, click on the box to place a check mark. Then click on Apply, then click Ok. HP Envy 17
