I just purchased the PowerDirector10 Ultimate and installed it on my desktop computer. My question is I use three computers here one desktop and two Laptops I carry around with me. I am a Web Developer and do Video Editing also can I install this software on all three of my computers without having to buy another license? How many computers can I put this license on? One Two or all Three? Charles_Harman@rocketmail.com Charles Harman Arlington Texas / Lapu-Lapu City Philippines

Charles,

The license that you bought is for one computer only.

Is there a reduced rate to add a license to another computer? Or do I have to buy it again at full price? Not a problem just would be nice to have it on both computers so if I am mobile I still have access to the software. It's OK if I have to buy and will likely do that later on. Charles,

We here on the forum are not associated with Cyberlink. We are just editors like you.

As to the reduced price, you would have to take that up with Customer Support.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

I have not tried it myself, but what happens when someone installs their software on a second computer?

Does it not work?

A pal I know has it installed on 3, maybe 4 PCs, they all work fine and all get updated !

It's not legal but he tells me they work fine. Cyberlink terms are, that you can only install on 1 PC. Intel Core i7 3770K 3.6 Ghz,
GTX 680, 2 X Benq23 3D monitors,
6G DDR3, Win 7 64, Win 10 (Insider) 64
PCIE SSD, Intel Sata SSD 2 500 Gbyte Seagate,
Minoru 3D WebCam, NVIDIA 3D Vision-Ready

Multiple installation of a single licensed programme on different computers will be picked up by the security activation key confirmation and may trigger component activation failures and key failures. The purpose of online activation is to prevent the miss use of a single license.

Volume licenses are available. Please follow the link provided to you.

Seriously, there have been cases where federal law enforcement has descended on companies and done the "Everyone please step away from your computers" thing. Usually they've been turned in by an employee, but not always. If a large company bought a 3-user license for MS Office, somebody might notice.

I don't know how effective CyberLink's piracy prevention mechanism is, but scruples aside I'd rather not find out.

I did have software that would broadcast its serial number on your LAN, and shut down if it found an identical serial number, but that caused a lot of problems for users so they removed that feature. Jerry Schwartz

Guys;
"Big Brother" grew up a LONG time ago. Every software serial #, of every machine connected to the internet is "farmed/scraped" and collated for review. How many internet hops did it take you to reach the CYBERLINK registration server for each component activation?

All those server/machines in the cloud have mucho processor cycles and so little to do with their CPU down-time. A machine's idea of web-surfing is collecting and organizing random bits of binary in case it has value to someone later.

Most companies never shut the software down (bad for business/distribution), but don't be naive enough to think they don't KNOW!!

The answer you got as above is a reference to how many times you can re-install the software from the purchased disc or the download files.

The OP asked how many different computers the software can be installed on. Re-installing the software, for what ever reason, is very different from installing the same software on multiple computers at the same time.

There is no doubt in my mind that is the question you asked. But, did you mention that you were inquiring about installing on more than one computer at the same time?

Your question as asked above could give the impression that you want to change the computer on which the program is installed.

Can you install on another computer, yes. Can you install on more than one computer, no, unless you have purchased more than one license.

I have no stake in what you choose to do, but we cannot give others the impression that it is acceptable to install on multiple computers while having only one license.

The Power Directot EULA says:
CyberLink, as licensor, grants to you, the licensee, a non-exclusive right to install the accompanying software program(s) (hereinafter the "SOFTWARE") on a certain number of computer(s) in accordance with the number of the license you purchase

Hal;
"amstec1 " was not the author on this thread. The original author "CharlesHarman46 " was asking about installing on multiple computers, and we all seem to caution him against that. "amstec1 " question, may or MAY NOT relate to installing on multiple computers at one time, as you noted.

Sometimes it is hard to stay on track (for me anyway) with more than one person asking what could be different questions on a single thread, eh?

Fred,

You are correct. The two question can be very different.

The first question was clear and consise on what was desired. Only one way to interpret that question.

The second question is open to interpretation.

My main concern was people thinking the answer from support for the second question, was being offered as an answer to the first question.

Now if we can figure out who's on first we will be set for life.

Hal
