Hi Guys,
I recently had a support ticket with cyberlink on this and have basically had no progress.
I'm hoping someone here may be able to shed some light.
PDR10 previously worked on my laptop. I think I originally started with PDR9 and then upgraded. I had to re-format and re-install the whole machine after some issues with a virus.

I am running windows 7 home premium 64bit. Since re-installing I have not been able to get PowerDirector to start.
I just get "PDR10.exe has stopped working" after I select the Full Feature Editor option. I have provided dxdiag and other files to cyberlink which I will upload here. I have performed the upgrades they have mentioned, even going to a special version they had me download.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything including quicktime many many times. and in as many different orders as I can think of. I have monitored the event viewer and this crash does not generate any logs. Each time PDR crashes I can see a new process "CLQTKernelClient32.exe" in the task manager I have to kill these or they just stay there.

The last update I had on my support ticket was a supposed workaround as follows

. Click Start.
2. Type “run” in the search box
3. Click Run.
4. Type comment “msconfig” and click OK.
5. A System Configuration Utility window will come up.
6. Under General tab, select Diagnostic Startup.
7. Click Apply.
8. Click OK.
9. Click Close.
10. It will ask you to restart your computer. Click Restart.

Not sure what this was supposed to do but Cyberlink does not even come close to starting when you reboot like this.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.
Rod

Hi Again.
I have finally answered my own question so thought I would post it here.
I have un installed and reinstalled more times than I can count.
I Had right clicked and used "Run as administrator"
I had used the Troubleshoot Compatibility wizard for all different windows versions.

Finally I went to change the compatibility settings back and noticed the following.
Right Click "PDR10.exe" in the Program Fies\Cyberlink\Power Director10 directory.
Select Properties
Selet the compatibility Tab
Check the box "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
Click OK and then start Power Director.

Not sure what effect this has on the application yet, but at least it starts.

I have had the same problem with PD10 and the dopes at software support. I discovered the solution by accident. I went to the following link http://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/support/powerdirector/patches_en_US.html
and upgraded my software to build 1703. PD10 works fine now.....I think.
Hope it works for you.

Search in Help and Support for "Display Scaling".

The topic:
Turn off automatic resizing in programs that aren't designed for high–DPI display

The above instructions apply to Windows 7 (64 Bit) and maybe for 32 bit.

Well I thought I fixed the problem with upgrade 1703. Unfortunately I still have the problem. Anyone have any ideas?
