png files as video overlays

Have had a video overlay (Logo) done in After Effects which has been saved as a series of png files whic it sees when loaded as a video file and plays as such.

PD 10 when I try to load the png files sees them as individual files and loads them as 1000's of separate files. Is there someway to have PD 10 see these as one video file and not single images?

Any assistance appreciated. Thanks, George

G'day George -

So you don't have the logo animation as a video file? If you do, forget what is written below.

PD can't see them as a video unless it's in a video format.

The series of .png files represent each frame in the animation. They'll probably be named sequentially, so that (00001.png would be the first frame, 00002.png the second & so on up till (say) 03421.png, which is the last frame.

You can import all your .png files & drop them in the timeline. Select all > click Slideshow > Time Lapse. The default duration for each image is 00:00:00:01 (1 frame), but you can customise it. You probably won't need to.

Produce the slideshow as a video & you're almost good to go. When you go to use it in a video, you'll probably need to apply chroma key/use a mask because the transparency in the .png files will be lost.

Cheers - Tony
