OK, here's the story. I thought, because I can, I'd get a new 2nd gen Zune. I could have gotten an IPod of the same size and variety, but Apple wants to keep the thing really pricey, So I essentially got the same thing in MS's Zune.
It is an 80 gig glorified MP3 player with video. Pretty remarkable, really. Graphic quality is amazing. I was wondering if I would be able to actually be able to use the video part because the screen is so small. It is somewhere in the neighborhood of about 3.5x2 inches. But, my old eyes can see it just fine.
The difference between Zune Marketplace and iTunes store is that Apple has had more time to get theirs right. iTunes store also has so much more available to the people who buy and use the service.
But, there are Zune aficionados who insist that Zune owners can get iTunes products and play them on their Zune.
So I thought I'd give it a try.
I didn't go all out and just grab all I can. I just bought two music videos (as that was what I was wanting because the Zune Marketplace has so little available) and downloaded them to my computer.
I went to the folder I had set up for iTunes. Sure enough, they're there. The format is in .M4V... I think that's Apple's QT format. Yeah, I can play them in either the iTunes program or on Quick Time. But they're not recognized by the Zune. Or anything else for that matter. I tried to open them up in PD6. Not recognized...
OK, so this is what I need from you all. What in the way of a converter do you use/suggest that I can convert to something PD6 will recognize so I can convert to something that Zune will use.
I know that PD6 will produce a video that the Zune will play, I just got to get it out of that Apple format.
Any ideas?
