I noticed that whenever I upload a Mp3 that it only makes a blip sound whenever you try to play it. The weird thing is that every once in a while it will work.

Any ideas of what is up? It would make my editing that much faster.

Thanks

Depends on the MP3 file. Powerdirector 9 and 10 sometimes have problems with MP3 files.

If you convert the MP3 to another Audio format such as WAV or WMA, you should be able to play the song.

I am having the same issues,

I import a sound clip from a recording of my voice and the mp3 file sometimes makes this weird squirrel sound at the start and then stops...

Other then converting the mp3 to another format their has to be a work around?

Thanks, Miguel

You can try recording Mp3 with a constant bit rate (48K ), no variable rate.

Some MP3 files just do not work well in PD9 and PD10. WAV is the safest audio format. As far as I know WAV always works.

Is it a sound that you have heard before...like is it a system sound?

System sounds in Win 7 are in .WAV format. You'll find them in C:\Windows\Media, so methinks that's not the issue.

The problem is what PD (still) does with (some) MP3 files on (some) PCs on (particular) days under (certain) conditions.

Troubleshooting this issue has proved to be very difficult, even for CL R&D! I spent about 6 months wrestling with the stupid thing!

The most time-effective solution is to convert to .WAV or .WMA before you import the audio clips.

Cheers - Tony

No, it's like the entire clip were being played in a fraction of a second. I think that's what it actually is. Jerry Schwartz

When I have a problem with MP3 audio, as mentioned above or another.
I open the (Wave Editor PD10) and saved, copy works perfect

Hi Killer

As the other learned members have said this is a well documented problem.

Some mp3s work and some don't.

A while back I posted this same issue and attached a 'fairy twinkle' mp3 file, some members could play it some members couldn't. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/22525.page

The solution for me was to convert my mp3 sound effects to WAV format.

I use Audacity - Google it, it's free and works brilliantly

The WaveEditor included with PD fixes them up just fine, at least for me. No need to wrestle with Audacity. Jerry Schwartz
