I have version 9 does version 10 have more options for creating a pip frame. Version 9 only has a beveled shape for PIP frame there is no ability to even make a square frame. There are shadow and transparency options but no bevel control . I know its possible to make my own frames but it would much easier if the bevel option existed.

Hi Del

When you say PIP frame do you mean Mask or Border?

If you mean Mask, you can create a square by unchecking the Maintain Aspect Ratio box.

If you mean Border, use a white board (or any colour) above your clip and Uncheck Aspect Ratio and reposition/adjust to create a sharp edge right angle to a frame

Happy editing

Del -

The PiP Designer options in PD10 are the same as in PD9, apart from the added feature of enabling 3D depth in a motion path.

Bevelling? How did I miss that? Where is it?

Along with the suggestions Neil made, you can easily make frames & import them into PD. Here's a little toot... http://youtu.be/msx6dp0oymk

- or get frames from DirectorZone http://directorzone.cyberlink.com/effectgallery/#fr_-1_downloadCount_7_ALL_WORLDWIDE_thumb_1

Thank you guys those are two work arounds but when i want to apply motion is double work because i have to match the path of both the frame or back ground box with my clip/ photo. There should be beveling control or at least an option for a square border without the rounded edges.

Hi Del -

I think you asking a modestly priced video editing program to do what is generally the work of graphics software. You're right about the "double work" although you can save your motion path & apply it to both your frame & image.

It's pretty easy, in an image editor, to take a photo, whack it in a frame, add a bevelled edge and save it to use in PD as one single object.

Whether you think of them as workarounds or not, if you want to do something good it's worth putting a little time into... don't you think?

Cheers - Tony

Good point but i was referring to bevel as the rounding of the edges of the border. That is good idea to save the movement path. I was forgetting that there was that option. It still seems funny to me that the pip border option only gives you rounded edges. Thanks for the help
