How to modify a transition effect

Once I've inserted a transition effect (cross, fade, etc.), the program won't let me modify (set the duration). Right-clicking it brings up a menu list of choices that are almost all grayed out, including set duration. Is this a bug? Is there any way to do this?

Thank you PowerDirector 365, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core processor 4.05 GHz, 32GB RAM, Windows 10 64-bit OS, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

JSC: You can modify transition duration, at least the fade transition - haven't experimented with the others. Just expand your timeline and select the transition. Then go to either edge of the transition, and an arrow will appear. Drag it out to your desired duration, in one or both directions.

Hope this helps. Have a great day.

Thank you, Phil. That's a good workaround. I'd prefer to be able to type in x seconds, but this will do for now.

JSC -

Don't worry - you're not alone. The voices of PD9 beta testers sang the same chorus unanimously & repeatedly... "Bring back the duration button!"

PD8 & previous versions had this feature. For some reason unknown to any of us, it was left out of PD9 & PD10.

So - we're stuck with it.

Of course, you can set the default transition duration in Preferences.

Cheers - Tony
