PDVD12 Ultra upgrade will NOT install without previous version

I have been having freezing problems with my 12 Ultra upgrade, I wondered if the fact that I installed it over the 11 Ultra upgrade might be the problem. After reading this forum that no previous version is required I happily uninstalled it with Revo Uninstaller, also scanned for leftovers and deleted them. Rebooted and tried to install my 12 Ultra upgrade, 'No previous version found', curses, tried the same with 11 Ultra upgrade, same result, surely I don't have to go way back installing all my previous upgrades so I just restored a disc image I made three days previously and I now have 12 Ultra upgrade working again but with the same freezing problems. Why can't I install my downloaded upgrade without a previous version being installed?

Had the same problem. Let me know if you able to get them to provide you a clean install. Best of luck. I had to put back in 11 before installing 12.

If only my situation was that easy, I go back to version 6. I don't have 3 hours to install all those and you can bet something would go wrong, not compatible with Win 7 etc, etc.

No, I am not satisfied that you give me a link to V 9.0, 10.0 and 12.0, apart from the 400mb download I don't want to spend hours getting back to PDVD 12 Ultra. The fact that I have purchased every version from 6 onwards signifies I am not going to distribute it over the Internet, cannot you just send me the FULL 12Ultra version?

In fact I am very unsatisfied, obviously Cyberlink does not have the technical expertise to allow one to point to a folder that has the previous version to enable qualification. If others can do it why not Cyberlink?

Hi Lysdexic,

I to have experienced this same issue. When I contacted support had little interest in helping. In fact, I put up a thread with images of all the old stuff that gets installed on your PC when you go through this "step-up" upgrade process. As you can see, older version stuff doesn't get removed.

Let me know if you find a solution. It looks like the only way to avoid this is to clear your cookies, visit the Cyberlink website, and just buy a new complete license.

I complained about the tortuous install procedure for PDVD 12 (having to install V8 to v12) a few months ago. After a few days they did send me a full installer for PDVd 12 (161.
Just keep at them and they will send you a (time limited) link for the full installer. Asus P8Z68 V-Pro Gen 3, Intel i5 2500K @4.5GHz, Thermalright Silver Arrow, 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP, EVGA GTX 670 FTW Signature 2, Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD, 4X Samsung F3 HDD, Samsung Blu ray, Antec DF-85
