with serial number CDS100601-03. This was with an OEM version of
the Cyberlink suite.
I had been able to play Blu-Rays without a problem until recently. Now
every one I tried gave me the same message about needing to update.
I'd click Yes to update and PowerDVD would cycle around and give the
same message again. (example rental Blu-Rays where this happened:
Hugo, War Horse, Adventures of Tin Tin).
I then clicked on Upgrade Now and was given an option to download a
critical patch, which I did, and then ran it, and it in turn downloaded
about a 60MB patch which was installed.
My version number then became 9.04322.52, serial number DVD 110707-06.
Then once I tried the previously rejected Blu-Ray, I got the message
"This content is only allowed on a digital output due to AACS. Ensure
your display device uses a DVI, HDMI, or Display Port connector and
supports HDCP."
My connection to my HDTV monitor is VGA. My graphics card,
NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS (driver 6.14.11.6375), has only VGA and DVI
outputs, and my HDTV monitor does not have a DVI input, although it
does have HDMI inputs.
As already mentioned, I used to be able to play Blu-Rays with no
problem, with the monitor connection I still have. Now none appear
to be playable.
What do I have to do to enable playback once again? Surely I shouldn't
have to purchase a new graphics card.
Note that BD Advisor did not indicate any problems. I am attaching the
HTML produced by its logger.
